REIKI

IMG_1510.heic

Reiki is a Japanese Energy System developed by Mikao Usui in the early part of the 20th Century. Drawing on Tendai Buddhist philosophy, Reiki works on the same principles as Acupuncture, Tai Chi and Qi Gong, and channels universal energy to promote a sense of deep relaxation for the  recipient and can assist in alleviating physical, mental, and emotional issues. Originally intended as a system for self-development, Reiki is more commonly practiced as a complementary therapy in the West and is even offered by the NHS in certain situations.

Reiki can be given as a "hands on therapy" and also sent as distance healing. Reiki is safe for pregnant women from 14 weeks, and for babies from newborn.

A range of different Reiki treatments will be available from April including 10 minutes taster sessions, 30 and 60 minute treatments, and parent and baby double sessions. Treatments can be provided in your own home or at a variety of locations around West Suffolk. To be notified of when treatments start please register your interest via the link below.

FAQ

What can I expect when I come for a treatment?

A full explanation will be provided at the time of booking, but generally during a treatment you will lie or sit, and the practitioner will either place their hands on you or hover them over you if you prefer. You may feel heat or cold or tingling coming from the practitioner’s hands – or you may not! Generally people feel very relaxed and comfortable during a treatment but you can speak to the practitioner at any time if you feel uncomfortable or want the treatment to stop.In person treatments will follow the national Covid Guidance in place at the time.

How many sessions would I need?

We usually advise four to six one hour sessions if you wish to try and treat a specific problem, however many people feel the benefit after only one session. A discount will be applied when booking multiple sessions.

Can I have Reiki for a specific health problem?

Reiki can be helpful in a wide range of physical and psychological health problems. However the Reiki practitioner cannot ‘direct’ the energy in any particular direction. They simply act as a conduit and the energy flows to where it needs to go.

Do you offer Distance Healing?

Yes! You can request Distance Healing for yourself or for someone else. Full Reiki treatments can be delivered via Zoom, or Reiki energy can be sent out by the practitioner at any time. You do not need to request permission from a person to have Reiki energy sent to them.
